Are all Home Insurance policies the same?
No! While most base or standard policies have 4 basic coverages the policy language does vary between policy forms or contracts.

What is in a standard homeowners insurance policy?
A basic homeowners insurance policy includes four essential types of coverage. They are:
  1. Coverage for the structure of your home.
  2. Coverage for your personal belongings.
  3. Liability protection.
  4. Additional living expenses in the event you are temporarily unable to live in your home because of a fire or other insured disaster.

How can I compare the different Homeowners policy Forms or contracts?
The Office of Public Insurance Council has an excellent website that will compare the different policy contracts specific to the state of Texas.

Does my home insurance policy cover flooding?
NO! Homeowners policies do not cover flood. Flood coverage must be purchased as a separate policy.

How do I determine the Replacement value of my home?
Contact your agent and ask him to complete a Replacement cost estimate for you.
